Safety in Bedroom

As you may suffer from cancer fatigue and other side effects from treatment, make your bedroom as comfortable and safe as possible. Patients undergoing cancer treatment are more at risk for osteoporosis and bones weakened from metastatic cancer can break or fracture.

The more tired and lethargic you are the more forgetful and lax you become to your surroundings. Always turn your bedside lamp on before getting out of bed during the night.  It’s important to have communication so have a phone next to the bed for easy access in case of an emergency.

It’s fun to entertain yourself this magazines, books electronic equipment etc. Always remove or tuck away any tripping hazards like overhanging bedspreads, electrical cords, clothes or other clutter.

If you trip or fall, let your medical team and your caregivers know. They might need to check you for injuries.
