Plan ahead

Note to self: Important! Check that you have repeat prescriptions to cover the Christmas period.

Some local pharmacies may be offering reduced opening hours over Christmas. It’s important to plan ahead as some prescriptions are not in stock and could take several days to acquire. Running out of medications would be disastrous and stress anxiety will increase worrying if you have enough to get by.

Also plan ahead and find out who to contact if you have a problem as your medical team might be taking time off. Many Specialist and GP practices will have limited opening hours between Christmas and New Year. Know who you should contact if you have a problem and how you can contact them.

Check with your doctor when you will get your results if you had tests before Christmas. The results might be delayed over the holiday period. Waiting for results is often very difficult emotionally. So knowing when to expect them might make waiting a little easier.
