It’s going to be a hot one!

We are gearing up for another hot day and you have to be out and about….appointments, appointments!!

Chemotherapy can make patients more sensitive to the sun and more vulnerable to heat-related problems.
  • Protect your head. Don’t forget to wear a wide-brimmed hat, especially with hair loss, and apply sunscreen to your face, the most exposed to the sun and more susceptible to damage.
  • Use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and check on a recommendation for sensitive skin with your medical team especially if your skin is irritated anywhere from radiation therapy.
  • Wear sunglasses with UV protection to protect your eyes any time the sun is out to offset risks of cataracts and inflammation.
  • Dress for sun protection and cover your exposed skin with light and breathable long-sleeve shirts and pants as much as possible. Remember apply sunscreen because some light clothing does not offer complete protection.

Why not make a statement with  a trendy umbrella on this hot Summer’s day and REMEMBER to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate…..
